The Liberty Difference
Our mission is to provide compassionate care that helps people reach their healthcare goals and improve their quality of life. When you choose Liberty, you become part of our Liberty family. Here are some of the stories of how Liberty Home Care and Hospice has made a difference in the lives of those we care for.
Thelma’s Story: A Home Care Success
After falling in her driveway, Thelma Simmons found herself wheelchair bound, facing what she thought were insurmountable challenges. With Liberty Home Care’s tailored therapy plan and caring therapists dedicated to helping her reach her goals, she is now walking again and living independently in her own home.
Marie’s Hospice Volunteer Story: Bringing Joy with Singing
With more than 20 years of dedicated service, Marie Faircloth is one of our cherished Liberty Hospice volunteers in Clinton, North Carolina. Her love for our hospice patients is evident in every visit she makes and every song she sings them. Her story as a hospice volunteer is one of passion, commitment and an unyielding love for service.
Evelyn and Jeffrey: A Hospice Volunteer Story
Being a hospice volunteer offers you the chance to have a lasting impact on the life of another individual and their loved ones. In this heartfelt video, Liberty Hospice Volunteer Jeffrey Blenk shares how assisting others, like the Harris family, has also made a positive difference in his own life.
Therapy Dogs Visit Residents at Highland House
As part of our Pet Support Volunteer Program, Liberty Hospice partners with The Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, a local non-profit, to bring joy, companionship and the comfort of puppy snuggles to residents at Highland House Rehabilitation and Healthcare. This partnership allows us to enhance the well-being and happiness of those in Liberty’s care through the power of pet therapy.
Moments that Matter: Celebrating Mae
Mae Johnson is one of the founding members of the Autism Society of Cumberland County. She pioneered outreach to improve the lives of individuals with autism and support their families. Her dedication to the cause has meant so much to so many people. Liberty Hospice was honored to celebrate her life’s work during a recent ceremony at Highland House Rehabilitation and Healthcare. Creating Moments that Matter like this one is what hospice is all about.
Moments that Matter: Ruby’s 106th Birthday
Liberty Hospice teamed up with The Foley Center at Chestnut Ridge to throw a birthday bash for Ruby Arnold, who turned 106 years young on March 23rd! Mrs. Ruby was surrounded by friends and family on her special day. It was a wonderful celebration.
Jeanne and Jewel’s Hospice Journey
When Jewel Brandon needed hospice care, her daughter, Jeanne McPherson turned to Liberty Hospice in Whiteville, North Carolina. Over the course of two years, Liberty Hospice became like family to Jewel and Jeanne as they provided nursing care, social and spiritual services. As a former nurse herself, Jewel never lost the nurse in her — even when she became the patient. She was still focused on caring for others, leading to a very special relationship between her and her care team.
Marvin and Betty’s Hospice Journey
Our Liberty Hospice team in Siler City grew to love Marvin and Betty Maness during Marvin’s nearly two years in hospice care. They truly became family. It’s not often we care for someone in hospice for two years. Getting to know Marvin and Betty during that time was a true blessing, and we are thankful for every second we were able to spend with Marvin. We miss him dearly, and we cherish our continued friendship with Betty. Marvin and Betty’s hospice journey exemplifies why choosing hospice care sooner rather than later can help families during this important stage of life.
